Jeff Stapleton
Jeffery Allen Stapleton, of Kingsport, died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Monday, September 2, 2013.
Born in Kingsport, he was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School where he was All State in Football. Jeff was a graduate of Mars Hill College where he played football.
Jeff was owner of Independent Candies & Novelties.
He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
His father, William M. Stapleton preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, MaryRose Stapleton of Kingsport; brothers, Rick Stapleton and wife, Jan of Kingsport, David Stapleton and wife, Anita of Mt. Carmel; sister, Jennifer Gordon and husband, Johnny of Kingsport; nieces and nephews, Brandon Stapleton, Courtney Carroll, Brittany Yates, and Jonathan Gordon.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow visitation with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Salyers, Larry Hutchins, Jimmy Tipton, Larry Coomer, Jim Hagy, and N. R. Canipe.
