Jeffrey Lynn Salyer

Jeffrey Lynn Salyer, 44, of Kingsport, went to be with his heavenly father suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Jeffrey was born in Tucson, Arizona, and moved to Kingsport at the age of 4 months.

He graduated from Sullivan North in 1987. He worked for the State of Tennessee at Warriors Path State Park for 24 years.

Jeffrey attended Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church in his younger years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Weber City. Jeffrey was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He loved doing for others.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edith and Earl Morgan and Dallas Salyer; uncles, Roger Morgan, Donald Morgan and Ronald Morgan; and a special cousin, Michele Bolas.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Kristi Jones Salyer; sons, Jordan and Jonathan Salyer; parents, Tommy and Joyce Salyer; sister, Kristin Carter and husband, Franklin; nephews, Samuel and Corey Carter; grandmother, Eunice Elva Salyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Diane Jones; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bolas, Justin Morgan, Brandon Kilgore, Matthew Salyer, Brian Salyer, Marcell Gibbons, Patrick Jung and Philip Bailey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Salyer, Jonathan Salyer, Samuel Carter and Corey Carter.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church from 4-7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Dr. Lester Morelock and Rev. Ray Amos, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrison Chapel UMC Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kristi Salyer, 109 Woods St., Blountville, TN 37617, for his boys' education fund.
