Jerome Edward Heitmann III, 49, of Kingsport, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Born in Seoul, Korea on July 17, 1968, a son of Jerome Edward Heitmann Jr and Kum Chae Mun Heitmann, he had resided in New Jersey, New York and Florida, before coming to this area 11-12 years ago. He attended ETSU and musical college in Orange County, New York. Jerome had been a professional musician for 25 years who could play anything with strings. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, dad, brother, grandfather and friend who loved camping, riding motorcycles (DOTC) homebuilding and was an accomplished Luthier. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Lorraine Heitmann (April 31, 2017); paternal grandparents, Jerome E. Heitmann, Sr. and Ada Heitmann; and maternal grandparents, Kim Unson and Mun Sungi.
Survivors include his wife of 4 years, Sherry Lee Mitchell Heitmann; 2 sons, Jarret Heitmann and Sam Heitmann, both of Kingsport; 2 stepsons, Brandon Anderson and wife Miranda and Patrick DeLoach, both of Elizabethton; 3 grandchildren; sister, Alisan Sherfey and husband Jerry of Kingsport; niece, Rhianna Lori Morris; great-niece, Aleiah Danyelle; numerous special friend; and his pets, Skeeter, Rusty and Aminta.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Hamlett-Dobson Fall Branch Chapel. Friends will be received at the residence of his parents following services.
