Jerry Edward Crawford, 49, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Brookhaven Manor following a lengthy illness.
Jerry was born in Jacksonville, FL, and had resided in Kingsport most of his life. He was a former employee of Vic Davis Construction and of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. and Edna Crawford, his half-sister, Debbie Allgood, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Gragg Jackson; three sisters, Patricia "Patty" Crawford of Kingsport, Sharon "Sissy" Crawford Compton of Church Hill, and Johhnie René Crawford Sutherland of Kingsport; one brother, Gary Crawford of Galax, VA; one half-sister, Delores Fields; two half-brothers, Junior Crawford and Jackie Crawford; three grandchildren, Joseph Edward Jackson, Jasmine Samantha Renée Jackson, and Joy Gabrille, Jackson, all of Kingsport; special friend, Ray Bishop, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm Monday May 4, 2009 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or anytime at the home of his sister René Crawford, at 516 Foothills Road. Funeral services will be at 3 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will follow at Oak Glen Cemetery, Fall Branch.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Crawford, John Stair, Shannon Houseright, and Dewayne Roberson, Ray Bishop.
