Jerry Lynn Rogers

Jerry Lynn Neill Rogers, 64, Kingsport, ran to the arms of Jesus, leaving her lifetime "sweetheart" Harold, til they meet again.

She went to rest in the arms of angels on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after battling a long term illness. Her heart was filled with love to everyone she knew and those she didn't know.

Jerry was born in Morristown, Tennessee, October 18, 1943. She was an amazing person as well as a wonderful cook; and as someone said "she is now runnin' 'round heaven looking for the perfect Angel Food Cake recipe." She published several recipe books; she loved life; and loved everyone in her life.

Preceding her in death were her dear father Robert E. Neill; grandparents Robert W. Neill and Mary R. Ragle Neill, Ernest G. Jones and Cordia Mclain Jones, Logan and Emma Rogers; and her precious son Harold "Gene" Rogers, Jr.

Jerry is leaving behind her precious husband Harold Rogers of Kingsport who stayed by her side every step of the way until God called her home, where they will reunited again. She also left behind her loving mother momma Opal Jones Neil - Jerry was her baby girl and she will miss her greatly. Missing her are her boys, Robert Rogers and wife Angel, Michael "Scott" Rogers and wife Vanessa, David Rogers and wife Kristy, Mark Rogers and wife Cindy; grandchildren, "her babies" Nathan Rogers, Cassandra Lynez, Misty Cox Hartsock, Amber Barnette, Chelsea Barnette, Michael Rogers, Jamie Skeens, Bailey Rogers, Emily Rogers, Luke Rogers, Travis and Cory Pendleton, Kassie Rogers and Ethan Elijah Rogers, all of Kingsport. She was an inspiration to all who loved and knew her.

The family will receive friends any time at Scott and Vanessa's home to cherish the memories of Jerry, 612 Newland Avenue in Bloomingdale and from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Garland Tipton officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Webb Family Cemetery. Her boys and grandsons will be her pallbearers - Robert, Scott, David, Mark, Travis, Nathan, Cory, and Michael and honorary pallbearer will be Elijah Mark Ethan Rogers.

The family requests no flowers. Please send donations to Bethel Apostolic Church, 1820 Pinebrook Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.
