Jessie Range Alison, born August 10, 1912, died peacefully Saturday Evening at Asbury Place in Johnson City.
Born in Piney Flats, she lived in the Colonial Heights Community most of her life. She was a very talented cook and managed both the Miller-Perry Elementary School and Colonial Heights Middle School cafeterias for many years. Jessie was a Charter member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, an active member of Johnson Memorial Sunday School Class and of Martha's Circle.
Jessie was a very caring person, wonderful mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She loved raising flowers, sewing, quilting and cooking holiday meals for her family. She lived in Colonial Heights since 1934 and had many friends throughout the community.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Alison; husband, Lionel Alison; and grandson, Drew Gibson.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gibson and husband Charles Gibson, Gray; former daughter-in-law, Linda Earnest and husband Rick Earnest, Kingsport; grandsons, Casey Gibson and wife, Yasmin, Long Beach, California; Steven and wife Tiffany, Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren, Shawn Gibson, Riley Alison, and Annie Alison.
A family graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at New Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The memorial service will be held at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 30, at 3:00 p.m. with The Rev. Mr. J. Thomas Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Renovation Fund of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 213 Colonial Heights Road, Kingsport, TN 37663
