Jewel K. Still, 73, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at her home following a strong and courageous battle with cancer.
She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church where she was in the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. Jewel was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and graduated from Blountville High School. She was retired from AmSouth Bank where she had been employed as a teller.
Her parents, Jay D. and Leona King, preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Amy Still, Kingsport; two sons, Kent Still, Atlanta, Georgia, Alan Still and wife, Ann, Nashville, TN; and three grandchildren, Joshua Still, Marshall Still, and Ella Still.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Edwards and Rev. J. Spurgeon McCartt officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial be at Oak Hill Memorial Park following the service.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class at First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
