Buster James "Jim" Murray, 84, Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2012 after a long illness.
He was born July 2, 1927 in Jearaldstown, Tennessee to Byrl and Bessie Murray. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Jim was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Byrl Murray; mother, Bessie Murray; two sisters; and six brothers.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Phillips Murray of the home; children, Charles Murray, Wanda Starnes, James Murray, Tammy Sparks, Tina Murray and Paul Murray, all of Washington County, TN; grandchildren, Greg, Stephen, Charlie, Cory, Amy, Melisa Amanda, Chris, Megan, Melissa, Bobby, John, and Josh; great-grandchildren, Josh, Lisa, Abbey, Klayton, Hannah, Aiden, Taylor, Mason, Brianna, Allie, and Jayden; one great-great-grandson, Aron; sister, Clara "Dom" Carson of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 2, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.
The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Lelbert Thornburg officiating and military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Posts No. 3/265.
