Jim Owens

Jim Owens, 34, of Kingsport, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009. Born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, he had resided in Kingsport for the past six years. Jim was employed by BAE Systems as a Research and Development Chemist. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and Loyola University of Chicago. Jim was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. He was a loving father, son, and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Mandy Owens; son, Graham Owens; and daughter Anna Owens, all of Kingsport; parents, Clarence and Kathie Owens of Akron, OH; and brother, Mark Owens and wife Deni of Birmingham, AL.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 on Wednesday in the chapel of First Broad Street United Methodist Church with The Rev. Dr. A. Clark Jenkins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105.
