Jim Shelton

Isaac "Jim" Shelton, 66, of Boozy Creek passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a heart attack. He loved riding his motorcycle and was a proud member of the TN Peacemakers MC for over 20 years. Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist and attended the Fountain of Life Bible Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to everyone that knew him. He never met a stranger. Jim loved children and enjoyed dressing up as Santa Claus every year for Christmas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Guy and Georgia Hickman Shelton; son, Jimmy "Dwayne" Shelton; and brothers, George and Robert Shelton.

Jim is survived by his 3 daughters, Christy Jennings, Sonya McCrary and husband, Mark, and Mattie Mathews and husband, Mike all of Kingsport; fiancé, Peggy Woods; 13 grandchildren, Brandy (Daniel), Deanna, Miranda, Elijah, Chandler, Brooke, Logan, Jakob, Preston, Javen, Zachary, Macee, and Amber; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Thomas "Dooley" Shelton and wife Tina, Ralph Shelton and wife, Lisa, William Shelton and wife, Patty, Billy Shelton and Donald Ford, and Terry Shelton and wife, Sis; 4 sisters, Helen Marshall and husband, David, Evelyn Wells and husband, Bob, Mary Lewis, and Amy England and husband, Tim; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of his brothers in the Peacemaker Motorcycle Club.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Victor Young officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday at Darthula Baptist Church Cemetery, Hiltons, VA at 1:00 p.m. with military rites by American Legion Posts 3/265.
