Jim R. Stapleton, 71, of Kingsport died Friday, September 30, 2011 at his home.
Jim was born in Dickenson County, VA and resided in Kingsport for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Jim was a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and several brothers.
Survivors include his son, Tommy Stapleton and wife Ruth of Kingsport; two granddaughters, Ashley Stapleton and Kelly Stapleton; extended grandchildren, Aaron Crawford and Samantha East; and two sisters, Vivian McCowan and Mary Greene, both of Kingsport.
It was Jim's wish to be cremated. There will be no services.
