Give thanks to the Lord for he is good.

Jim Trent 62, Kingsport, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was of the Baptist faith. Jim was employed at Alemite Industry, Johnson City, for several years. He was a collector of old cars and loved all animals. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim "Greasy" Trent; girlfriend, Katie Woods; grandparents, Parrot and Noda Trent, and Frank and Viola Bussey; and aunts, Irene Case and Betty Benton.

Jim is survived by his mother, Marie Trent; brother, Rob Trent and wife, Karen; niece, Priscilla Trent and husband, Josh; and great-nephew, Lucas Bowers.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm.

The graveside service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Rob Trent, Rick Key, Billy Parker, Josh Bowers, Tyler Baker, Teddy Hyatt, Gordon Light and Frank Light.
