Jimmy Keith, 57, of Kingsport, passed Wednesday, July 13, 2011 following an accident.
A graduate of Gate City High School in 1972, he worked in the family business, Nickels Produce, then for several years as an automobile salesman, and many years in the electrical supply business with Consolidated Electrical Distributors CED.
He was a kind and loving husband, stepfather, brother, and son, who always had a smile on his face. All who knew him recognized his wit, good nature, and humor. Jimmy was a friend to all and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold.
His parents, James Sr. and Frances Keith preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Tami Lyons Keith of Kingsport; stepchildren, Skylar Penson and Saige Penson, both of Kingsport; sisters, Carolyn Houser and husband Gary of Asheville, NC, Janet Hensley and husband Mike of Gate City, VA, and Kathy Skeens and husband Rick of Weber City, VA; sister-in-law, Penny Derrick and husband Mark of Church Hill; nieces and nephews, Julie Quillen-Townsend and husband Ben, Laura Quillen, Dustin Collier and wife Megan, Lindsey Collier, Ashley Collier, Katie Hensley, Brett Derrick and wife Annie, and Nolan Derrick; great-nephew, Maxwell Derrick; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friend, Jackie Bishop.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
