Jimmy L. Dunham, 86, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2016. Born in Elizabethton, Tennessee, Jimmy lived most of his life in Kingsport. He retired from Eastman Kodak Company and he was a third generation meat-cutter. Jimmy was a charter member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. He loved attending church, southern gospel music, gardening, and wood-working.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Dunham; father, Zollie Dunham; brother, Jack Dunham; and sister, Francis Hicks.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Clevenger Dunham; three sons, Rick Dunham and wife Clara, David Dunham and wife Teresa, and Bill Dunham and wife Donna; six grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Matthew, Lindsey Brooke, Chris, and Andrew; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bobbie Dowell of Bristol, TN, and Phyllis Sledd of Salem, VA; one brother, Richard Dunham of Bristol, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Bledsoe officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
