Jimmy Oliver, 88, of Kingsport, died Saturday morning July 27, 2019 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Morristown, raised in Trade, TN and lived in Kingsport most of his life. Jimmy served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Mason-Dixon Trucking for over 30 years, and operated several truck driving schools in East Tennessee and S.W. Virginia. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, volunteer Legion 12 where he served on the Ritual Team. Jimmy was an International Legion Championship Ritualist, past Moose State president, past Deputy Supreme Governor and Pilgrim. He was a member of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church and currently a member of First Presbyterian Church. He has been an elder and deacon.

Jimmy was preceded in Death by his parents, Ed and Olpha Oliver; sister, Betty Caudle; brothers-in-law, David Hooks and Herman Caudle.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Jenella Oliver; stepson, Ryan Bernard and wife, Amy (Johnson City); two step-grandsons, Aaron and Allen Lewis; sister, Carolyn Hooks (Elizabethton); along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with a Moose Ritual service to follow at 5 p.m.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sharon Amstutz and Rev. Kemper Huber officiating.

A family inurnment service will take place at the church columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church (100 W Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660).
