Jimmy Richards

Jimmy W. Richards, 77, of Dandridge, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015 while surrounded by his family.

Born in Sullivan County, he was the son of Dan and Ruth Minton Richards. He was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Jim was an avid crappie fisherman and Tennessee Volunteer Fan. He retired from Eastman after many years of service. Jim was an active member of campground ministries.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Free Richards, of the home; two daughters, Lynda Kimberling and Loyd Garland of Johnson City, and Melissa Marshall and husband John of San Diego, California; three sons, Danny Richards and wife Barbara of Kingsport; Stanley Richards and wife Sherry of Kingsport, and Matthew Richards and wife Allison of Gray; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters; Wilma Ford, and Judy Brown and husband Therol; one brother, Donnie Richards and wife Lydia; many nieces and nephews; and special nephew, Teddy Hilton.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Mac Cook officiating.

Burial will follow at East Tennessee Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Richards, Michael Richards, Chris Eaton, Teddy Hilton, Loyd Garland, and Alan Taylor.

The family will also receive friends any time at the home of Stanley and Sherry Richards.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
