Jo Gladys Archer, 89, of 505 Jackson Road, went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, September 27, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She had resided in the Washington County community of Fall Branch for most of her life.
Mrs. Archer was a member of Logans Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting rocks, what-nots, and glassware.
Her husband, Rufus Kelly Archer; son, Billy Monroe Archer; and parents, John and Venia Steadman Cline preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Tony H. Archer and wife Mary H.; Rufus Eugene Archer, and David Anthony Archer, all of Fall Branch; one granddaughter, Christy Parks and husband Chris, Fall Branch; and two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Parks and Austin Parks, both of Fall Branch.
Calling hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. at the Fall Branch Chapel with Pastor Wesley Duncan and Pastor Steve Pate officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Logans Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Max Shaw, Ovalee Archer, Leroy Brown, Leon Cox, Steve Ward, Hubert Olinger, and Chris Parks.
