Joan Morelock Crawford

Joan M. Crawford, 66, Blairs Gap Community, TN, entered into rest Friday, October 18, 2013, unexpectedly at her home.

She was a native and life-long resident of Sullivan County. Joan was an employee of Timber Steel Construction for several years. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her.

Joan was preceded in death by her father, James T. Morelock, and two infant nephews, Michael James and Blandon Kane Steadman.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry H. Crawford, Kingsport, TN; a daughter, Pamela and husband, Ted Shade; son, Nick Crawford and wife, Erin; three grandchildren, Ava and Gavin Crawford and Grayson Shade; mother, Anna Mae "Ebie" Morelock; sister, Kathy Steadman and husband, Mike; one uncle; three aunts; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson Chapel, Fall Branch. The service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor
Wyndell Sydebotham officiating.

The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Brandon Mullenix, Adam Mullenix, Cody Medlin, Lance Huffman, Jordan West, and Steve Forestor will serve as pallbearers.
