Joan Gragg, 75, of Kingsport, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation-Hillside after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born in Highpoint, North Carolina; but had resided in Kingsport most of her life.
Joan was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, animals, and sports. She was a member of New Covenant Free Pentecostal Church.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, George and Roxie Nelms; her first husband, Jessie James Hensley; and a grandson, Chad Lawson.
Surviving are her husband, Harold Gragg, of the home; four daughters, Linda Calton, Church Hill, Jean Calton, Church Hill, Kathie Hensley-Green, Kingsport, Patty Hensley Hobbs, Kingsport; two sons, Jessie Hensley, Laurel, Maryland, Pete Hensley, Kingsport; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lou Lowe, Nashville, Imogene Hartsock, Kingsport, Mary Jane Shipley, Church Hill; and three nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport or any time at the home of a daughter, Patty Hensley Hobbs.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Pastor John B. Walters officiating. Family members and friends will meet at the cemetery.
