Joan L. Smith, 88, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
Born in Laurel, Mississippi, she had lived in this area most of her life. She was very active in needlepoint and was a member of the Bays Mountain Chapter of Embroidery Guild of America. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she cherished her friendship with the congregation.
She is survived by her two sons, Paul Blanchard of Knoxville, and Mike Blanchard and wife, Karen, of Franklin, TN; and two grandchildren, Katie and Patrick.
A private family service will be held per her request.
A moment of remembrance will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Berndt Hall.
