Elizabeth JoAnn Slaughter Palmer, 75, Kingsport, was called home to be with her Lord at 1:00 am on Wednesday, October 31st following a brief illness. Jo was born in Kingsport where she had lived her entire life. She was a graduate of Lynn View High School and an employee of the Kingsport Times News until retirement. Jo was loved by all, having been a great wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lucy Chase Slaughter. and loving sister, Jean Hilton.
Jo is survived by her husband, Floyd Elmer Palmer of the home; two sons, Michael Fraysier and wife, Debbie of Harker Heights, TX, and Todd Fraysier and wife, Delores of Bailey, NC; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Baker and husband, Tom and DeWanna Palmer, all of Kingsport; stepson, Walter Scott Palmer, II of Kingsport; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; niece and special caregiver, Kellye Ward and niece, Tiffany Davenport.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 3rd from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Mike Mellons officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, November 4th at 1:30 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park.
The family offers special appreciation to the staff and her friends at the Village at Allendale.
