JoAnn Ryans Guy

JoAnn Ryans Guy, 75, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health. Born in Kingsport on November 6, 1941, a daughter of the late James Elbert and Anna Mae Morelock Ryans, she had resided in this area her entire life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Rev. Luther Guy; son, James Guy; and son-in-law, John Adams.

JoAnn is survived by 5 daughters, Cathy Adams, Shella Welch, Robin Farrow and husband, Walt, Cindy Hall and husband, Michael, and Pam Woodruff and husband, Daryl; 3 sons, Randall Guy and wife, MaryAnn, Terry Guy and wife, Tina, and Stephen Guy and wife, Amy; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Bishop Hagan Webb, Bishop William R. Gibson and wife, Sherry Gibson officiating. Those attending the graveside service are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 pm then proceed to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Guy, Adan Guy, Sean Penley, Michael Hall, Randall Guy and Terry Guy. Daryl Woodruff will be the honorary pallbearer.
