Joe Hayes

Joe Hayes, 81, of the Ducktown Community, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center. Joe had retired from Tennessee Electric and was of the Baptist faith. He was greatly loved and will always be remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Nan Hayes, 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maryln Hayes; 3 daughters, Donna Sexton and husband, Chris, Lisa Rasnake and husband, Greg, and Tracy Hayes; son, Stacy Hayes; 8 grandchildren, Terry Joe McMackin and wife, Sarah, Shonna Tipton, Nakeshia Rasnake, Jodie Rasnake, Hunter Hayes, Justin Keys, and Zane and Blakelyn Hayes; 5 great-grandchildren, Chayton, Coby, Chesney, Sutton and Shayna; many beloved nephews and 2 special nieces, Linda Sue and Donlina; and 5 special friends, Sheila Shelton, Dick Barnes, Larry Hawk, Dale Barnes and Ray Keys.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Glenn McCracken officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Limestone.

Pallbearers will be Rick McCrary, Chris Sexton, Greg Rasnake, Terry Joe McMackin, Travis Gamble and Brian Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Lynn Hensley, Ronald Hensley, Gary Hensley, Wayne "Butch" David, Jr. Davis, Cliff McCrary and Dr. Elliot Smith.
