William Joseph Whitey Leach, Jr. 81, Kingsport, TN, went peacefully into eternity on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
Joe was a proud veteran of World War II where he served his country in the 544th division of the U. S. Army from 1943 through 1946. He was employed by Mason-Dixon for thirty-nine years. He was past president of the Kingsport Boys Club and a past president of the Moose Lodge. Joe was active in the community coaching various sports for more than twenty years.
Surviving are his loving wife of sixty-one years, Hattie Leach, of the home; three sons, Joe Leach and wife Barbara; Mike Leach and wife Anne; David Leach and wife Melissa; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by Post 3/265 of the American Legion.
Pallbearers will be Gary Laws, Joey Yates, Jeremy Acito, John Gentry and Stan Steffey.
