Joe B. Morley, 88, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 surrounded by his family.

He worked at Holston Defense Company and retired from Eastman Kodak as Fire Captain. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII receiving a Purple Heart. Joe loved baseball, basketball and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Gladys Morley.

Survivors include his wife Faye Middleton Morley of Kingsport; daughter Rita Onkotz and husband, Steve of Kingsport; two sons, Joel Morley and wife, Ann Marie of Fayetteville, GA, Jeff Morley of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Laurie Smith, Todd Smith, Brandi Morley, Summar Morley Holland, Rachel Morley, Alex Morley; three sisters, Dorothy Glass of Kingsport, Peggy Musick of Kingsport, Jean Cheek and husband, J. E. of Clinton, TN; two brothers, William Morley of Kingsport, Bronson Morley of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews and his pet, Roxie.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will begin at 8 pm with Chaplain Mike Pelham officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 am Monday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Posts #3/265.

The family would like give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and to Brookhaven Manor for their care of Joe.
