John E. "Bubba" Bralley

John E. "Bubba" Bralley

John E. "Bubba" Bralley, 72, of Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family. A native of Kingsport, he was the son of the late Keener and Alma "Kooch" Bralley. Before John's illness, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed street rod runs, a diehard Bama fan, but was most passionate about Civil War history. John never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-sister, Betty Burleson; brother, Jake Bralley; and son, Johnny Bralley, Jr.

John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wilma Short Bralley of the home; daughters, Tina Lowrance and husband, Phil of Jonesborough, TN, Dawn Hyatt of Greeneville, TN, and Leigh Ann Huffman and husband, Lance of Jonesborough, TN; his pride and joy, his six grandchildren who were very close to him, Joshua, Christina, April, Ashley, Erika and Jacob; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Randall Spivey officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Huffman, Phil Lowrance and Don Short.
