John T. "J.T." Crawford, 55, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord and his parents, on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2014, ending a long struggle with M.S. Born in Kingsport on July 20, 1959, a son of the late Raymond and Veda Cox Crawford, he had resided in this area his entire life. J.T. was saved at a young age and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his niece, Lori Poore.
J.T. is survived by his wife of 28 years, Charlenia Crawford of the home; son, Jon Crawford; daughter, Nicole Crawford; granddaughter, Emily Crawford; 3 brothers, Bob Crawford and wife, Sue, Don Crawford, and Darrell Crawford and wife, Amy; sister, Connie Casey; special aunts, Iva Nell Cox and Elizabeth Bible; special uncle, Donald Cox; numerous aunts and uncles; and several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
A special thank you to caregivers, Kim Loggins and Keisha Douthat.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Mike Owens officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 pm at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Military rites will be by American Legion Posts 3/265. His cousins will serve as pallbearers. Those attending graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:45 pm Saturday.
