John D. Manis
John D. Manis, 67, of Kingsport, died Friday morning at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness. Born in Cumberland, KY, he had resided in Kingsport most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Beirut Conflict. John had worked at the Kingsport Foundry for several years.
He was preceded in death by his friend, Jonathan Hurd.
John is survived by his friends and caregivers, Rodney and Gussie Hurd of Kingsport.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 am, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery by American Legion Post 3/265.
He was preceded in death by his friend, Jonathan Hurd.
