John "Mac" McMurray

John "Mac" McMurray, 75, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Holston Manor. Born in Scott County, Virginia he had resided most of his life in Kingsport. Mr. McMurray had opened and operated the first foreign car repair shop in Kingsport.

Surviving are his best friend and loving companion of 26 years, Patricia White of Kingsport; four daughters: Lisa McMurray of Knoxville, Rose Ann Johnson of Abingdon, Virginia, Julia "Sissy" Dunn and her husband, Randall of Church Hill, Melissa McMurray of Iowa; two sons: Craig McMurray of Bristol, Virginia, Larry McMurray and his wife, Lisa of Bristol, Virginia; two step-sons: David White of Hiltons, Virginia, Tim White and his wife, Gency of Gate City, Virginia; and several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor John Rogers officiating.
