John Henry Morelock

John Henry Morelock passed away on February 1st, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph "John Henry" Morelock and also each of his grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, who was also his dedicated care giver and very best friend, Edith Franklin and step-father Ron Franklin of Fall Branch; one beloved son, Jonathan Morelock and wife Whitney; one beloved daughter Jennifer Morelock and fiancée Eric Crawford; grandmother Madison Morelock; two grandsons Payton Saige Morelock and Layton John Crawford; former wife and mother of his children, Linda Morelock; one brother, Henry Morelock of Fall Branch; one sister Carol Roller and husband Scott of Gate City, VA., one step-sister Geneva Yearby of Alabama, and Special "Ole' Man" Eddie Roberts of Kingsport; five nieces, three nephews and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was previously employed as an Industrial Insulator and later disabled with liver failure.

John was of the Baptist Faith and often thanked the Lord for another day. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He enjoyed racing and the ocean. We will never see a beach without thinking of John.

Visitation services will be Monday, February 2, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Tuesday, February 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 PM with Pastor Hal Calhoun officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday, February 4, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
