John H. Myers, Sr., 87, Fall Branch, was called home Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Greene County, TN and had resided in Fall Branch since 1960. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II and retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 38 years service.
John was a member of Reservoir Road Baptist Church and a member of the Fall Branch Ruritan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Myers; parents, James Dee Myers and Lucy Myers; four brothers, Willie Bee, Joe, Tom and Charlie Myers; five sisters, Francis Light, Nellie Charlton, Mary Jane Collins, Alice Myers and Gertrude Myers.
Survivors include three sons, John Myers, Jr. and wife Brenda of Fall Branch, William Dee Myers and wife Jeanette of Bluff City, TN, and Ray Myers of the home; two grandsons, William Dee Myers, Jr. and Michael Keith Myers; two granddaughters, Rose Mary Holowka and Crystal Myers; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. Services will be held at 8 p.m. with Wayne Boswell officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Posts #3/265.
