John Fredrick Nanfeldt

John F. Nanfeldt, 78, of Kingsport, passed away March 20, 2009.

He was born in New Jersey and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He later moved to Kingsport in 1979 and retired from AFG Industries after over 40 years of service.

Mr. Nanfeldt was a devoted member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 52 years, Jean Bell Nanfeldt.

Surviving are two daughters, Martha Nanfeldt, Montgomery, AL, and Sandra Nanfeldt-Lott and husband, John, Athens, GA; one son, James Nanfeldt and wife, Catherine, Apopka, FL; five grandchildren, Eli Lott, Jessi Lott, Stephanie Nanfeldt, Jennifer Nanfeldt, and Hunter Brooks; one great-grandson, Sebastian Lott; and one sister, Trudy Stewart and husband John, Cedar Rapids, IA.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Hamlett-Dobson with Rev. Joseph W. Manis officiating.

Graveside service and burial will follow at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Rock Springs United Methodist Church.
