John Osborne

John Lee Osborne, 69, of Jonesborough, TN, was called home suddenly early Sunday morning, November 10, 2019. Born in Michigan, he had lived in Jonesborough most of his life. John was an employee of Greene Valley Development Center for several years. He was a longtime member of Gray Church of God, where he loved to sing in the choir, and fellowship with church family. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served in the Peace Corp.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Osborne; parents; sister, Ruby Shipley; and brother, Rick Carter.

John is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Matherly and Billy of Elizabethton, TN, Jennifer Stuart and Claude of Elizabethton, TN, and Rebekah Broyles and Frank of Gray, TN; son, Christopher Tucker and Carrie of Greeneville, TN; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Shipley, Alice Townsend, Kathy Littrell, and Sheila Webster; brothers, Robert Osborne, Charles Osborne, Frankie Osborne, and Tim Carter; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Gray Church of God. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Bishop Richard Thompson officiating.
