John Jake K. Ramey

John Jake K. Ramey, 69, Church Hill, our precious daddy closed his pretty blue eyes and left this earth on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family.

He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his four girls, grandchildren, and great-grandsons. Daddy was a hard worker, having worked in several factories and farmed.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Effie Ramey; six brothers, Howe, Carl, Gene, Robert, Milton, and Jim; and two sisters, Ruby and Linda.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Beverly Ramey, Kingsport; four daughters, Sherrie Castle and husband Keith of Kingsport, Dreama Skeen and husband Mike of Yuma, VA, Missy Conley and David Conley of Kingsport, Chrystal Bishop and husband David of Kingsport; ten grandchildren, Brian and Whitney, Benjamin, Mikki and Bruce, Jonathan and Krista, Nichole, Nicholas, Nathan, LaShara, Devan, and Dave; six great-grandsons, Noah, Jacob "Jake", Landen, Blake, Ashton, and Will; two brothers, Willard Ramey and wife Patsy of Kingsport and Ira Ramey of Church Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport or anytime at the home of Beverly Ramey.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Eddie McAmis officiating.

Burial will follow at Ross Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Castle, Jonathan Skeen, Benjamin Castle, Nicholas Conley, Nathan Conley, Devan Thompson, Dave Bishop.
