John Vinson Slemp
John Vinson Slemp, 45, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday July 4, 2012.
He was a member of Pineview Free Will Baptist Church in Kingsport where he served as deacon. John was employed by Pfizer Pharmacueticals in Bristol.
John was preceded in death by miscarried twin infants, his parents, Lovely Margaret and William Harold Slemp, sisters, Sharon Faye Rudd and Wonda Williams, and brother Ronald Slemp.
He is survived by his wife, Diane and daughter, Shauna Slemp of the home, son, John G. Slemp and wife Katie of Memphis, TN; brothers, Larry, Ervin and Eddie Slemp as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-7pm Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Jack Morelock officiating. Music will be provided by Tommy and Vickie Austin.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm Sunday in Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Mannering, Seth McKee, Marvin Ferguson, Gaines Linkous, Mike Draughn and Steve Austin.
