John Robert "Lil John" Stair

John “Lil John” Stair, 40, went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2019 after an apparent drowning.  He was born on May 17, 1979 in Sullivan County and spent all of his life here.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, papaw, Carl E. Stair; mamaw, Sylvia Stair, and father, Johnny Stair, papaw J.B. Crawford, and mamaw, Edna J. Crawford.

John is survived by his sons, Kyler M. Kerney and Hayden Crawford; mother, Sharon Crawford Compton; stepfather, Ray Bishop; brother, Steven Lynn Compton; and sister, Jeri Charron Compton.

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.  Burial will follow Oak Glen Cemetery in Fall Branch.

Pallbearers will be Fred Hairston, Trayvond Williams, Trenqual Williams, Travis J. Crawford, Randy Light and Terry Calhoun.
