John Robert Tester

John Robert Tester, 87, Kingsport, TN, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007.

John retired from Johnson- Hilliard Heating and Cooling in Kingsport and was an active member of Fordtown Baptist Church.

His parents, Martha Bryant Tester and Lee Tester; two sisters, Fay Owens, Elizabeth Hodge; and brother, Raymond Tester preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Alta Irvin Tester, Kingsport, TN; five sisters, Helen Bullock, Piney Flats, TN; Imogene Morris, Elizabethton, TN; Virginia McAmis, Elizabethton, TN; Beatrice Huckaba, Rogersville, AL; and Frances Perry, Aberdeen, NC; two brothers, Rufus Tester, Elizabethton, TN; and Joe Tester, Rockford, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday at Fordtown Baptist Church.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with Rev. Frank McCarter officiating.

Burial will follow at Happy Valley Memory Gardens in Elizabethton, TN.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post 3382 of the V.F.W.

Pallbearers are Tim Bullock, Brian Irvin, Martin Smith, David Peters, Mike Peters, and Aaron Peters.

Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport is serving the Tester family.
