John Wilson

John Wilson, 64, of Kingsport, climbed the stairway to Heaven Friday (February 21, 2014) at his residence.

Born in Kingsport on March 21, 1949, a son of the late John and Ann Wilson, he has resided in this area his entire life.

John was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Army.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad and friend. He enjoyed his music and working his family farm.

John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Jarvis Wilson; daughter, Andrea McLemore and husband, Alex of Stillwater, OK; sisters-in-law, Pat and Dale Marcy, of Oak Ridge, and Annie Smith of Boulder, Colorado.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. with a Veteran's Appreciation Service provided by the Vietnam Veterans Association at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Don McCann officiating.

The burial will follow graveside services at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at Phillippi Cemetery in Mountain City, TN, with Military Rites accorded by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
