Johnnie Bragg

Johnnie Bragg, 67, of Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 2, 2019, following an extended illness. Born in Kingsport, Johnnie has lived in this area all of his life. A graduate of Sullivan Central, he played football all 4 years. He was an avid car collector and loved to be outdoors. Johnnie loved to sing, and he sung with the group Harmony Strings for many years. He retired from TEC following 33 years of service. He attended Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church. Johnnie really loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Minnie Bragg.

Johnnie is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bragg; daughter, Becky Bragg-Persinger and husband Michael; two sons, Curtis Mowdy and Sankler Mowdy and wife Lori; grandchildren, Jesica Shrader and Monica Charland; two great-grandchildren, Katie Shrader and Adalynn Dickerson; sister, Janice Huggins and husband Russell; brother, Eddie Bragg and wife Kay; mother of Becky, Cheryl Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Rose and Rev. Steve Pate officiating.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at East Tennessee Cemetery.
