Johnny M. Miller, 71, Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at NHC Healthcare Kingsport, following a period of declining health. Born in Kingsport on July 10, 1943, a son of the late James Miller and Bessie Miller, he had resided in this area his entire life.

Johnny graduated from Lynn View High School in 1962 and from Steed College in 1970. He was a member of New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Johnny was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Tennessee Eastman following 35 years of service. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, brother, special uncle and friend.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wellmont Oncology.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Miller.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Miller; son, Dutch Miller; mother, Bessie Miller; brothers, Michael Miller, Tom Wells, Jim Wells and Dan Wells; sisters-in-law, Earldean Dean, Delores Wells, Janet Wells and Julia Wells; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11-1:00 pm at New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1116 Nelms Lane, Kingsport, TN and at other hours at the residence. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm with Pastor Richard Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by The American Legion Hammond Posts #3 and Gate City Post #265.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Wells, Jasen Wells, Thomas Wells, Matt Baker, Dan Breeding, Mike Carter and Brad Willingham. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School Class of New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1116 Nelms Ln. Kingsport, TN 37665.
