Johnny Reed Orfield

Johnny Reed Orfield, 75, of Kingsport, won his battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2013.

Johnny loved to sing and play the guitar. He loved country music and was very knowledgeable about it. He was a loving and gentle father.

He was a member of Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva; mom, Helen; dad, Henry; and brother, Jack.

Surviving are two sons, Shawn and wife Beth, Jackson and wife Zelma; four grandchildren, Natasha and Sidney, Dakota and Kaelob; sister, Mary Belle Trent of Columbia, MD; niece, Jackie Jones; nephew, Jerry Trent; very special friend, Judy Dikes; and special friend, Lonnie Broughton.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Roy Fowler officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
