Joseph Matthew "Joey" Swayze

Joseph "Joey" Matthew Swayze, 45, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2015. The Joey we will remember (not the addict) was a kind, loving person.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Millard and Manda Qualls, and C.H. and Murial Swayze; uncle, Lowell Qualls; and lifelong special friend "sister" Carrie Ann Devault.

Joey is survived by parents, David and Phyllis Swayze; brothers, Ed Swayze and wife, Monica, and Jeff Swayze and wife, Angie; nephews, Dustin and Caleb Swayze; nieces, Hannah Swayze and Charleigh A. Housewright and husband, Matt; and great-nieces, Karleigh and Emma.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Roy Lane and Rev. Joe Byrd officiating.
