The family circle was completed when Juanita Curtis Cox joined the rest of her family in Heaven on Saturday April 24, 2010.
Those who were there to welcome her were her husband, Orville Glen Cox; her daughter, Donna Shipley; her parents, Robert Lee and Mary Alice Taylor Curtis; her brothers and their spouses, Ernie and Dovie Curtis, James and Edna Curtis, Towns and Lillian Jackie Curtis, and Lonnie Curtis; and her sister and her husband, Mamie and Bill Mann.
Surviving are son-in-law, Larry Shipley; grandson, Brandon Shipley; nieces, Shelby Mann and Wanda Smith; a niece-in-law, Jo Curtis; and nephew and his wife, Stan and Wilma Curtis.
Special friends and caregivers were Venus Murray, Carol Harless, Vance Murray, and Bridgette Johns. They loved her, prayed with her, and treated her as family. They said she woke up many mornings singing "Amazing Grace". Other caregivers were Karen Griffith, Tammy England, and Ivie Stemons.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
The caregivers and family wish to extend special thanks to RN Rhonda Horton with Advanced Home Care and to the staff of Indian Path Hospital.
