Juanita D. Spivey, 75 of Kingsport, was called home by the Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2008.
Juanita was born July 14, 1933 to Velvo and Jess Davis in Rogersville, TN. She worked at Eastman for 35 years and married Cecil Spivey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Spivey; parents, Velvo and Jess Davis; and a brother, Coy Davis.
Juanita is survived by a daughter, Mary Nidiffer and husband Steve of Kingsport, TN; brothers, Roy Davis and wife Bette of Fairfield, CA, Perry Davis and wife Bonnie of Rogersville, TN, and Frankie Davis and wife Wilma of Rogersville, TN; granddaughter, Kristin Castle of Atlanta, GA; step-grandson Cody Nidiffer of Elizabethton, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Juanita is also survived by her extended family of residents and staff at Wellington Place of Colonial Heights.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Wellington Place of Colonial Heights, Dr. Joel Gonce, the staff of Amedisys Hospice, the staff of Home Instead Senior Care, and special friend Delores Collins.
The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport on Saturday November 8, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Don Foster officiating.
Graveside service will be held Sunday November 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Rogersville, TN. Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Davis, Perry Davis, Roy Davis, Steve Nidiffer, Larry Southam, and Tom King.
