Judy Davis

Judy Davis, 79, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family and pets.

Born in Limestone, Tennessee on February 2, 1945, to the late Earl and Maude Brockwell. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved the outdoors, had a fondness for snow, and relished telling stories to her grandchildren that would captivate their imagination. Her staple red lipstick was a trademark of her elegant style and vibrant personality.

Judy is survived by her husband, Eddie Davis; daughter, Robin Davis Cleary; son, Brent Davis; grandchildren, Colin Cleary, Rafferty Cleary and Jordan Davis Adams; great-grandchildren, Quincy Adams, Lainee Adams, Jonah Cleary and Jeremiah Sams; daughter-in-law Mindy Davis; brother, Tommy Brockwell; and many nieces and nephews, including Sherry Adcox, Mark Adcox, Matthew Adcox, Retha Winters, Donna Sanders, Pete Reaves, and Billy Reaves.

Mrs. Davis was known for her culinary skills. She mastered the Easter Bunny cake, perfected the deviled egg, and had a divine Thanksgiving dressing recipe that was Michelin-Star worthy. Judy had a natural talent for interior and exterior design as well. The landscaping at her home earned numerous Keep Kingsport Beautiful beautification awards over the years. A passionate animal lover, Judy rescued dozens of dogs and cats throughout her life, providing them with loving homes. Her beloved pets included McAmish, Duffer, Gabriel, Sophie, Stormy, Culvert, Ellie, LuLu, Annie, Riley, Wyatt, and Princess.

Judy was preceded in death by her siblings, Evelyn Brockwell Reaves, Kenneth Brockwell, Doris Brockwell, Robert Brockwell, Erma Nell Brockwell Staten, Jack Brockwell, and Shirley Brockwell Adcox.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Judy’s memory to Petworks Animal Services, 3101 East Stone Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.

A memorial service with close family members will be held at a later time.
