Kingsport Judy Elam Sells, 62, is now rejoicing in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. On March 4th, 2010, she lost her battle with cancer and won a crown.
She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, graduating from Ketron High School where she was a cheerleader and beloved friend.
Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who planted seeds of truth, sang like an angel, and taught her children to love the Lord. Words can t express our sorrow and loss, but our loss is Heaven s gain.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Matilee and Roscoe Elam, and brother, Len Elam.
Surviving are her husband, James C. Sells, Jr., of Kingsport; her three children, James C. Sells, III, and wife Rachelle, of Nashville, Joy Carroll Tino and husband, Mike, of Johnson City, and Jeremy Cevin Sells, of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Cy Long, Julian Zaakkaheildevachetia, Jessica Carroll, Baille Mounger, Sydney Carroll, Vincent Altieri, and Blakely Sells; brothers, Tom Elam and wife, Lynette, Bristol, VA, Ray Elam and wife, Pat, Meridian, MS, Phil Elam and wife, Ida, Kingsport, Larry Elam and wife, Martha, Blountville, Leo Elam and wife, Marsha, Kingsport; sisters, Doris Bowyer and Helen Elam, both of Kingsport, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, at Vermont United Methodist Church, 1817 Bloomingdale Pike, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Elam officiating. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Blountville. Pallbearers will be family members.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to long time friend, Sharon Schramlin, and loving nieces, Syvella Coomer and Robin Reed, who helped care for Judy.
