Julia Bynum, 80, Kingsport, went to her final resting place on Friday December 19, 2008 taking the love of many friends with her.
Julia was born in Greensboro, NC, moving to Kingsport in 1979. She retired from Eastman Kodak in 1991. She was a unique and talented person who enjoyed basket weaving, wood carving, quilting, hand stitchery, weaving on the loom, playing the dulcimer, and the keyboard.
She did extensive traveling to Lexington for her love of horses, New York for her love of Broadway and ballet, Pennsylvania for her antiques, and Arizona and New Mexico to visit the Hopi and Zunni Indian tribes.
Julia was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Blanche Bynum.
Surviving are several cousins and many special friends.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with a funeral mass to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Burton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Westminster Gardens in Greensboro, NC.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 2517 N. John B. Dennis Highway, Kingsport, TN 37660.
