Julia Woods Francisco, age 92, of Kingsport, formerly of Church Hill, TN passed away July 8, 2013.
She was a member of Grange Hall United Methodist Church and an active member of WSCS for many years. Her church family was very important to her. She was also a member of the Fairview Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Julia had a long career with Fuller & Hillman men and ladies shop in clothing sales. She was a 30+ year Melanoma cancer survivor.
Her long life afforded her the opportunity to attend all her grandchildren's high school graduations, college graduations and weddings. She became a supporter of whatever sport they were involved in soccer, tennis, dance recitals, plays, piano recitals and art exhibitions. She loved life and was still dancing at her 90th birthday party. Julia enjoyed gardening and had a special ability to grow beautiful flowers. Her other hobbies included quilting, crocheting and sewing.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, H.L. Francisco, her parents, William David and Frances Elizabeth Woods, three sisters and nine brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Frances Dryden and husband, Al of Kingsport, and Brenda Wilson and husband, Cal of Johnson City; grandchildren, Angela Lovin, Nick Dryden, Allen Dryden, Brandon Linton, Cortny Eorgan, Heath Wilson and Ben Wilson; sixteen great grandchildren; and brother, Claude Woods of Peoria Il. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted in Oak Hill Memorial Park on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. with Cal Wilson officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 3-5:00 pm at Hamlet-Dobson Funeral Home
The family would like to extend their thanks to Emeritus at Kingsport for her 7 happy years as a resident, Amedisys at Kingsport, for their kind and gentle care and especially her "girls" Sara, Mary, Moonek, Ruth and Christine for their love, support, excellent care and devotion to Julia.
