Julia Van Tassell

Julia Van Tassell, Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Van Tassell had lived there and Red Bank, New Jersey and Kingsport, TN most of her life. She worked in the Red Bank Public School System for 25 years as a secretary.

Mrs. Van Tassell was a member of St. Christopher?s Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the
V.F.W. and enjoyed playing bridge with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Van Tassell Sr.; son, William R. Van Tassell Jr.; parents, Vanton Sonek and Maria Staruch Sonek; brothers, Walter and Ronnie; and sister, Helen.

Surviving are her grandson, Greg Van Tassell, Blountville; sister-in-law, Majorie Van Tassell, New York, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Christopher?s Episcopal Church with
The Rev. Margaret Zeller officiating.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
