Julian "Jack" Christian

Julian "Jack" Christian, 85, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness on March 19, 2014. Born in Princeton, WV on January 29, 1929, he graduated from National Business College in Roanoke, VA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was employed in a wholesale distribution business for many years in Bluefield, WV. In the early 80's he changed careers and worked in hospital administration in Kingsport, Jenkins, KY and Huntington, WV, retiring in 1997 from St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington. Jack was a devoted member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Beulah Christian.

Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Christian of the home; daughter, Sandy Christian of Jonesborough, TN; son, Mike Christian and wife, Donna of Charlotte, NC; his granddaughter that he loved dearly, Izzabella Christian of Charlotte, NC; sister, Susan Christian of Princeton, WV; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-2:00 pm at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
